ARCHIVING STEPS

Once we’ve made contact, we’ll send you a survey to help us refine your needs and prepare for the rest of the service. When on premises, we carry out the following procedures:

Step 1

DATA MAPPING

We map your storage infrastructure to determine the proportion of cold & unstructured data, intended for the archiving processing.

Step 2

INTEGRITY CHECK

We'll carry out several tests to ensure the integrity of your data, in order to drastically eliminate the risk of finding dormant malware or cryptolockers. Doing so, we're using state-of-the-art tools so that we can achieve both security and performance, by minimizing our time on site and without sacrificing one for the other.

Step 3

DATA ENCRYPTION

We perform software encryption of your data to make it anonymous and to prevent unauthorized access.

Step 4

DATA WRITING

We transfer your data to our systems, so that it can be sent to a tape backup robot. When data is written to tape, hardware encryption is applied, providing an extra level of protection.

Step 5

CATALOGING

Once all your data has been copied onto magnetic tapes, we catalogue them, linking them to your account and to the magnetic tapes already allocated to you.

Step 6

PRESERVATION

The final stage is storage : we store the magnetic tapes containing your data in boxes optimized for very long-term preservation, watertight and resistant to high-temperature fires, and store them in a dedicated room equipped with video surveillance cameras and sensors monitoring various constants.

As soon as we have retrieved the content to be archived, we transfer it back to our infrastructure using a physical transport process, ensuring total disconnection from all networks. This ensures that your data cannot be captured by malicious actors.

We carry out storage media integrity tests every six months, and send you the test reports automatically. What’s more, we transfer your data to the latest generation of magnetic tapes whenever possible, at no extra charge.

SAFETY

When transporting your storage media from your premises to ours, we use anti-vibration crates and video surveillance to prevent theft, in the same way as cash-in-transit companies.

Our solutions use fully air-gap processes. Your data, even if encrypted, is never accessible to an outside party, as our infrastructure is permanently disconnected from the outside world.

Once cold-stored, access to the storage media is controlled 24/7, and an alarm system automatically notifies the appropriate authorities in the event of an intrusion.

DURABILITY

Thanks to our long-term storage solutions, your data can be kept for up to a century, with guaranteed availability at all times, in the event of a cyber-attack or disaster.

Magnetic tapes are storage media with a lifespan of at least 30 years. They are stored “cold” (in a passive way), in a controlled environment, with constant monitoring of temperature and humidity.

For critical data, we can also set up increased monitoring, with measurement of radiation levels, magnetic field intensity, and place the storage mediums in compartments resistant to flooding, high-intensity fire, falling debris, etc.

TRANSPARENCY

Our service offers are guaranteed to have no hidden costs : you only pay for the amount of data you need to archive (fixed cost per Gb and per month).

We keep you informed of the progress of transfer processes, and send you reports on the health of storage media once they have been archived for the long term.

We do not have access to the content of the documents you entrust to us. These are encrypted, either by you or by us, and we use additional encryption methods on magnetic tapes to guarantee complete confidentiality.
